Here are a few exciting ideas for a Clifford themed birthday party to get you started:
Think Red: When you choose decorations for your Clifford birthday party, think red! Decorate your venue with red balloons, banners, and streamers. Make an easy bright red DIY Clifford dog house out of cardboard boxes. Paint the birthday boy or girl’s name on the dog house where Clifford’s might be. As an added touch, tape red or black paw prints made out of construction paper in and around your dog house. If your dog house is outside, you can even consider using spray paint or chalk to draw the paw prints. The dog house will be sure to get your guests’ tails wagging!
Bone appetit: Keep the hungry pups fed with a mini hot dog bar. The mini hot dogs will make your guests feel like they are as ginormous as Clifford! To celebrate the birthday pup, serve bone-shaped sugar cookies, Red Velvet cake, and “pupcakes” with red frosting. For snacks, serve chips, fruit, and veggies in red dog bowls.
Puppy Adoption Center: Emily Elizabeth, Clifford’s loving owner, first meets Clifford when he is given to her as surprise birthday present. Use an old dog cage or a basket to make a “Puppy Adoption Center” where your guests can choose a stuffed animal puppy of their own to take home!  After the partygoers choose their pup, have them make a collar for their new playmate. A make-your-own collar station will be easy to set up; the only supplies you will need to make the collars are ribbon, beads, and construction paper for the dog tags!
